Servata

Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-06-20

Servata is built so that this policy can be short. We do not collect any data about you or your belongings. Everything happens on your iPhone. This page exists so the contract is explicit.

What we collect

Nothing. The privacy nutrition label in the App Store reads "Data Not Collected". That is accurate.

  • No name, email, phone number, or other contact information.
  • No analytics. No crash reports that phone home. No SDK that tracks usage.
  • No advertising identifiers. No cookies (this website doesn't set any).
  • No location, no contacts, no calendar, no microphone access.

What stays on your device

When you photograph an item, the entire pipeline runs on your iPhone using Apple's Vision and Foundation Models frameworks. This includes:

  • Image classification to suggest a category, and text recognition (OCR) to read a serial number.
  • The one-line description, drafted on-device by Apple's Foundation Models where available.
  • The item photos themselves, plus the structured records you save.

All of it is stored locally in the app's own folder. None of it is sent off the phone. There is no Servata server, no account, and no cloud sync operated by us. If you use iCloud Backup, that's Apple's storage under your Apple ID — Servata never sees it.

Camera & photo permissions

  • Camera — only used while you're actively photographing an item. Frames are processed on-device and are not recorded or transmitted.
  • Photo library — only the images you explicitly pick are read. Servata does not scan your library in the background.

Those are the only sensitive iOS permissions Servata requests.

Your exports and backups

When you export a PDF or CSV, or back up your inventory, the file is created on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there — Files, email to your insurer, print, AirDrop — is entirely your choice and outside Servata's control. We never receive a copy.

In-app purchase

Servata offers one in-app purchase: a one-time $14.99 unlock (non-consumable) that unlocks the PDF and CSV export.

  • StoreKit handles the transaction. Servata never sees your Apple ID or payment method — Apple handles the purchase flow on-device through StoreKit 2.
  • The unlock flag lives on your device. Servata stores a single boolean ("is unlocked?") in your local app preferences. No entitlement server, no user account.
  • Restore purchase works on any device signed into the same Apple ID, via Apple's standard StoreKit restore.

Third-party services

  • Apple Vision, Foundation Models, PDFKit, and StoreKit. These are on-device system APIs. The purchase request goes from your device to Apple — Servata doesn't have its own backend.
  • Firebase Hosting. This website is served by Firebase Hosting. Standard server logs (IP, user agent, URL, timestamp) are kept by Google for operational purposes. We set no cookies or analytics tags on the site.

Children

Servata is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone. It is rated 4+ because it has no objectionable content, not because it targets children.

Your rights

Because we do not collect data, there is no data of yours we hold. There is no account to delete and no export to request from us — your records are already yours, exportable any time from inside the app. If you delete the app, all local state goes with it. Back up first (in-app Backup, or iCloud) if you want to keep it; use Restore Purchase to re-unlock export on a fresh install.
